The Horsemen love the Mustang. Imagine that! We love it for all the same reasons you do. This segment took quite awhile to edit. It is very simple but we wanted to make sure that it captured the essence of how we feel about this magnificent machine. Hopefully we did it justice... we certainly poured our hearts into it.

Chills...words really can't bring to justice the feelings a P-51 brings up in me.
Excellent job capturing the magic in this video.
Wow what is there left to say.
You have no idea what it does to me.
Can't wait until July couple of days in Warbird heaven...
I hope that some day you will release it on dvd or something.
A fitting tribute to them all.

Wow...brought tears to my eyes...really captures all our feelings about the Mustang. Thanks for
puting it to video!
Another spine tingler - thanks for that tribute to a wonderful aircraft. And to think it first saw
service with the Royal Air Force as the Mustang Mk.I...
You did it justice and a whole lot more! Awesome!
"...because they know this is the coolest plane in the world." Agreed!
Jim, Dan, and Ed fantastic flying and footage.
I love the way you guys always remember the connection with the original wartime Pilots and Crews in
the videos. May they never be forgotten. Our Tri-State Warbird Museum has the P-51D "Cincinnati
Miss" and occasionally a veteran pilot or ground crew in his 80's will come in and see the Mustang
and open up with glee telling tales sometimes they've never told before, not even to their families.
For a short time they become 20 years old again. They know we will understand and appreciate their
stories. They may talk for an hour. They thank us for listening and sometimes apologize for taking
up our time. We say "No, thank you for all you've done for us!"
The video says it all!
There is something accessible about the Mustang. The combination of the sound of the Merlin and the
absolute graceful appearance of it in flight makes you feel lighter and wish you could be a bird for
a day. I am thrilled everytime I see a Mustang and happy that there are many still cared for and
flying. Some airplanes look fine on the ground in a museum hangar. Not the Mustang it was designed
to be in the air and must be seen and heard in motion to be fully appreciated.
With all respect, the Mustang was not a US design, but a Brit design as far as production, research
and development was concerned, at least thats what I've been informed. But you guys built it and
made a damn great job! If I had the cash to buy a 2nd WWII plane it would have to be the Mustang.
P51-H is OMG!
Scott,
The P51 was designed as result of a request by England to North American to make P40s under license.
North American instead developed the P51A. It had an Allison engine. However the Brits Rolls Royce
Merlin brought out all of her potential. So it was a great example of 2 allied nations putting their
best together to build a powerhouse .
Incredible Video! Keep up the great work. Can't wait to see these birds fly this summer!
As a good friend once said, "Minutes in a Mustang are worth hours in nearly anything else." This
video shows why. Well done, guys, well done.
What a terrific tribute to our WWII pilots and vets on this Memorial Day weekend! If it's even
possible, you've outdone yourselves in your ASB.TV series with this absolutely magnificent video on
the beloved Mustang! The tears flowed watching it. I was at GML2007 and will never forget it. And I
can't wait to see the Three Horsemen perform at the RI National Guard Airshow. My deepest
congratulations on producing this standout video!
I've only had the privledge to fly the Mustang twice (so far) and have been asked a hundred times
what it's like...this says it all!!! I'm sitting here "feeling" it all over again! Thanks and very
well done!
Scott617,
Not wishing to split hairs but your statement isn't right.
For the story of how the Mustang was 'born' -

Another incredible video! Wow!
The greatest American aircraft with the greatest British Engine!!
Beautiful video. These wonderful airplanes belong one place......the sky. I loved the Mustang
since I was a kid, but these videos make me fall in love all over again! Keep the vidoes coming and
most of all............Keep'em flyin'!
Wow....I can't fall in love with this airplane enough...They are so right about the feeling you get
whene you touch it....it's wonderful feeling
Another awesome video! Keep up the great work guys!
Sweet! I don't get out as much as many of you and I have only met Lee but the expression on his
face says it all as he talks about "wearing" the Mustang - no offense guys but Lee is "Mr Mustang"
to me.
Tom P.
No offense taken. Lee has 6000 plus hours in the Mustang. Most of it is from the back seat to boot!
When ever we get a chance to head down to Stallion 51 and get some dual we take advantage of Lee's
expertise. Lee has lead the Horsemen routine and is part of the team.
Beautiful... Simply beautiful! A GREAT video for THE GREATEST fighter!
This Saturday the 6th of June, I had the greatest pleasure in my life. A ride with Mr Ed Shipley in
N20TF. As a 24 Year F16 Crew Chief and maintenance supervisor, the hours I have had in the backseat
of the Viper were nothing to the precious minutes I had on such a important day...
My utmost regards to Ed and Dan from all of us in the Texas Air Guard
Trust me... the honor was all ours. Both Dan and I are so proud of your service to our country. The
Mustangs history was carried on the backs of men and women just like you. You deserve the ride way
more than we do. Cheers Shipley
Thanks Ed
Awesome video, keep making them!!!!
P51HENOMENAL!
I can't believe this just got an emotional response from me. Stunning.....
amazing...
You certainly have done it justice, you dont have to worry about that. It has the best pilots in the
world flying it.
Finally able to view the video. I still have goose bumps and chills from my hair to my toe nails.
I can't imagine the joy of being able to fly these timeless machines. Thank you for letting us live
vicariously through you!
Great job guys!!!!
Doesn't get any more red white and blue than an american airframe and british engine! Lol, great
movie!!

I weep uncontrollably as I watch this beautiful machine take flight, I find it impossible to form
the words in my mouth to describe what the Mustang means to me.
In 1960 my dad purchased a fully airworthy F-51, N5410V, (now the air racer Dago Red), with a 200
hour dash 7 engine in the plane and a new -7 engine in the crate, but no radio, all for $6,500
(about the cost of 2 Cadillacs). My memories of flying in the back of it as a kid are how noisy it
was (foam ear plugs were not yet invented), the terrifying scream of the gear horn when he pulled
the power - something he did not brief, and the nauseating smell of the exhaust when he rolled the
canopy back and cut the power when parking. I also remember he did not fly by the book, flathatting
over desert and mountain towns east of San Diego, and insisting on 3-point landings which were
always interesting - tearing out runway lights at Palm Springs for example. Since he sold the plane
10 years later, I have flown jets, landed and catapulted off aircraft carriers, flown to Antarctica
on ski-equipped LC-130F/Rs, and "done a hundred things you have not dreamed of." I'm an incredibly
blessed and lucky person for these experiences. But I can't help think that, when it's all over, my
epitaph may as well read, "He never flew a P-51." Thanks for your dedication and great video.
BESmith, retired airline captain
I wished i could have some stick time again in the plane i used to fly and love.
I liked to fly the P51D a lot better than the F84
Felix.
OVER THE TOP AWESOME!!!
We owe it ourselves to share this story with everyone we know.
Brilliant from beginning to end.
