Oscar Winner Horner Scores Horsemen Music

Uploaded By: AirShowBuzz 06/01/2010

NOW FOR THE FIRST TIME, YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE SPECIAL HORSEMEN-JAMES HORNER HD DIGITAL PACKAGE EXCLUSIVELY ON ASB.TV!!
The Horsemen love searching the skies for tiny suspended moments of formation perfection. In it, time freezes, the team becomes one, and the Earth rotates around us. These fleeting moments appear like a bolt of lightning… stunning... electric... and then they are gone.

We are often asked, what does it feel like to do this in Mustangs? Finding the words to express it always seemed to slip away and vanish in the clouds… lost forever… until we met James Horner.

James is an Oscar-winning composer for such legendary films as Avatar, Titanic, Braveheart, Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind, Field Of Dreams, Glory, and Legends Of The Fall. The list goes on and on.

As luck would have it, besides music, James loves to fly. Even more important, he loves Mustangs, their thundering Merlin engines, and formation aerobatics… imagine that! Once again, the Horsemen’s P-51 skeleton key opened another magical door. It is through this door that our friendship and passions took flight.

Looking back, it seems inevitable that our obsession for music, film, and flying would project James and the Horsemen onto the world's biggest silver screen… air show center stage. This FILM and EXCLUSIVE HD DOWNLOAD PACKAGE documents how we landed there together and takes you behind-the-scenes as Horner records his musical masterpiece for the Horsemen. We truly believe James' score has captured the pure essence of flight and expressed its soul.

Not just for us… for EVERYONE.

EVERYONE who looks to the sky, dreams to soar without limitations… to fly… and Escape Life’s Gravity.

This is amazing, James did his job extremely well. The music fits perfectly and really epitemizes
the beauty of formation aerobatics in the P-51. Great work on this, I look forward to seeing you

Majestic, powerful, emotional -- that's Mr. Horner's music and so appropriate to hear more of it
with the Horsemen! I encourage all to listen to/purchase what I feel are the 2 most beautiful
soundtracks of all time -- The Perfect Storm and Legends of the Fall. Mr. Horner, thank you for
your incredible works of art and yes, we also hope to have the honor of meeting you someday !

djtingle 6/05/10 11:15AM

Music complimenting Merlins and Merlins complimenting Music- pretty damn good in deed!

Clubber 6/05/10 1:07PM

An inspiring score by one of the most inspiring composers of our age. James, you've once again
captured the spirit and mood of the subject you are writing about.
'Legends of the Fall', 'Apollo 13', 'Titanic', 'Braveheart' and many more favourite scores...now I
can add 'The Horsemen' :)

neilkfox 6/05/10 3:29PM

Musical perfection!! Fantasic compliment to the Horsemen routine. Well done.

azfsif18 6/05/10 5:27PM

I kind of chuckled when Horner said, "I contributed something to the team that perhaps no one else
could have". LOL...you think.? Other than maybe John Williams....or Beethoven- but the latter is
dead.

Ed Shipley 6/09/10 12:27PM

We are looking forward to playing the new Horner music at the Indy show this weekend!

ririzarry1960 9/01/10 3:23PM

Oh well...
You see, Maestro Williams did serve in the USAF in the fifies. You never know about these things,
but I cringe when people compare Mr. Williams with Mr. Horner, or Mr. Goldsmith or Mr. Zimmer.
Although I would have loved to hear any of these artists score this show, fact remains that Mr.
Horner was a perfect choice for this, and delivered way above any expectations. This is a truly
unique match of sensibilities and skills. Comparing artists that inhabit such exalted levels of
creativity is senseless. Can you empirically that measure the quality of Brahms over Beethoven, or
Bach over Handel? Just love it for what it is, and forget about empty assesments of artistic merit
or quality. THEY ARE ALL GREAT ARTISTS and we should treasure the moments in which we can inmerse
ourselves in their artistry....

Oscar Duck 6/10/10 3:21AM

Fantastic indeed. You guys are on the money involving others in our passion...

Oscar Duck 6/10/10 3:22AM

Fantastic indeed. Truly a great idea to introduce others to our passion..

Garybaxter1 6/10/10 4:05AM

war and he got killed when he was 21 years old "Crelin Bogle Bodie".My dad past me his passion about
aviation and I love it too! Regards Gary Ipswich United Kingdom.

I am a trumpet and piano player at 67 years old with a Music Degree and 3 years in US Army Field
Band, Washington, DC. This music was terrific, high, in the heavens. Very excellent composer.
Thanks, for the teaming of Horner and the Horsemen!

lanemiker 6/10/10 6:27PM

briansanderson 6/10/10 11:18PM

What beautiful music you have created Mr. Horner. Truly fantastic. Thanks.

skywatcher 6/11/10 10:17AM

"pretty damn good", bit of an under statement there....another stunner.

socalmark 6/12/10 1:50AM

James, the gods smiled upon you when you were gifted to us. You represent everything that is
beautiful in a world of music. Your music speaks louder then words ever could. The feelings you
invoke with your music are simply stunning. To move a person to tears and happiness with the change
of tempo or the introduction of strings to a haunting but beautifully stunning and melodic singing.
You truly are a beautiful person and I thank you for enriching my movie going experiences with your
beautifully orchestrated artistry.

This video gives a great look into James Horner. It is all new for me. Now I know, why his music for
"The Rocketeer" 1991 was so perfect. It is his hobby, his world. Can“t await the dowbnload of the
music to the horsemen.

kidf14 6/12/10 11:01PM

Can't wait to see you guys fly to this at Indy tomorrow! I don't know how to describe how beautiful
it was and I can only imagine how it will sound with the whine of those Merlin engines! Hopefully I
can meet you guys too, I admire what you do. It will be my first time seeing you and I can't wait!

docbonsai 6/13/10 4:40PM

Wow... I've always got the theme from The Rocketeer playing in my head every time I fly the
Mustang.... Now I know why.
Absolutely stupendous!

JohnnyA 6/15/10 8:17PM

Truly stunning music.
The Fourth Horseman. I can't think of a COOLER thing to be.

Such a wonderful video.

kidf14 6/25/10 7:18PM

I watched the Horsemen fly for the first time to this piece at the Indy Airshow and I was
practically in tears. Nothing like great music backing the sound of a Mustang!

pilot150 7/10/10 5:42PM

Wow James, you took my breath away! This is one big reason why I came back to flying full speed.
Between the Horsemen and your work of art, it makes me feel alive again filled with dreams of one
day joining those who keep the life and history of the P-51 Mustang. Thank you for the inspiration.

muppet 7/18/10 2:26PM

I would love to purchase this video and music on CD as soon as it is available. Anyone know if that
is possible? If so, where can I order it?

oliverp 7/19/10 4:37PM

Fantastic - looking forward to hearing this at a show in the future!

Geedee 8/07/10 4:45AM

One word...superb !

Dave Arnold 8/15/10 10:45AM

I recently flew CRAZY HORSE TF-51D Mustang for an hour and this is a great expression of the
aerobatic experience. Wonderful.......I did this for my 83rd birthday.

Ed Shipley 8/24/10 6:35PM

What a great way to enjoy your birthday! Congrats.

ririzarry1960 9/01/10 3:12PM

As a professional musician and educator, symphony orchestra player, long time armchair aviator and
film soundtrack aficionado, rarely have I seen such a seamless blend of majestic motion and music. I
have admired Mr. Horner's work for decades, and all of a sudden I now realize that he is also a
pilot, and in love with it! It was such an absolute joy to watch this; in tears, all the time! This
product is just PERFECT! Again: PERFECT! My best to whomever came up with the beautiful idea of
putting these talents together. My guess is that I will travel far to see The Horsemen (I live in
Puerto Rico USA) but, truth be said, I had rather listen to the magnificent sound of those
Rolls-Royce Merlins(which I have never heard)doing what they do best. To have the experience of
taking-in all these impulses will cause sensory overload. And the experience of music and movement
joined like this is just too powerful to feel in public. This is almost ritualistic, at least for
me.
