F-22 Escorting a Bear
Uploaded By: Admin 01/25/2008This was the first intercept of a Bear by the Raptor and one of the first photos made available to the public. It's the real deal!
Tags: Raptor, Bear, F-22, Civilian aircraft, Formation flying, Vintage AircraftThe fun part is dropping down on top undetected. A bit surprizing when the F-22 suddenly appears in
formation. :)
I wonder if it is still unnoticed with the external fuel tanks on it?
SLICK
Nope. Quite noticeable on radar with those "blocks" (tanks and pylons) hanging out in the wind.
Completely destroys the stealth. Glad to see them up there, though.
were was the bear intrercepted.
This and the other photo were taken on Thanksgiving over international waters off of the coast of
Alaska...
Just left a reply to Slick95's question and it's showing up as his own reply.
Greg Gaunt
was there any threat or were they just having a little fun with the bomber.
The Raptor looks photoshopped in some way...
For some reason the 22 does not look as sleek or stealthy from this angle.
its because of those underwing fuel tanks... i thought they werent going to hang drag bags from the
otherwise very sleek f-22- now it looks like a robot f-15...
Probably expected it - most likely sent to find out "when and where", not "if".
The game continues as before...........

Wonder what the Bear pilot's thoughts were?
