At the beginning of the year, when the demo team schedules first came out I laughed at the fact that the Snowbirds were scheduled to fly in Douglas, AZ. I thought no way that will happen. Well I am the type of person who falls on his sword when proven wrong and this is one of those times. The Snowbirds flew on Wed's Oct 1 for the people of Douglas AZ. Schools were let out so the kids could come out and watch them perform. It was a unique event, in that it was just the Snowbirds that flew. I would guess that maybe two or three thousand people were there, but the excitment of them in watching the Snowbirds fly was amazing. My hat goes off to the people of Douglas and to the Snowbirds for giving such a small community a wonderful expereince.
It was my first time seeing the Snowbirds and it was worth the two hour drive to see a forty five minute show. Here are some pics, there will be more to follow.
