What a fun show! These small shows are really starting to stick out to me. I am going to start carrying a little notepad with me to shows so I can remember all of my thoughts. I have forgotten most of them now but the thing that sticks out most is how impressive Jay Hodge was in his Yak-52. I didn't even know they could do that stuff!.

I hear that ASBs own WVPilot will be performing tomorrow, so that will be good.

Also, congrats to the first time airshow performers!

Agreed. For a first-year show, they certainly pulled out all of the stops. The only thing I think could be better: more bathrooms! I saw maybe fifteen total.

Also, kudos to the air boss. Almost every act ended with, "How about three photo passes before you land?"

Ryan, thanks for letting me borrow your camera again...can't wait to see your in-cockpit footage!

Yeah, it was a great show. The layout was nice, it was a good lineup, finding a spot on the fence was easy.... theres so much about this show I liked. Heres the best of my shots.

By the way, Ryan, there was still a Raptor on the ramp at WPAFB tonight - nothing left on Sunday night.

I also agree that this was a very good show. Small airport shows have such a personality to them, and this one was no different. The flying was exciting, the people friendly and the prices reasonable. Anyone who missed this one surely need to include it on their schedule for next year.
One little thing I really liked was how I got to the show. I used the far entrance which takes you into a public park, complete with a pond, ducks , people walking dogs, etc. I began to wonder if I was even in the right place untill I made a final turn and saw the runway right ahead. It just seemed to add to that overall personality of the place.
Congratulations to everyone involved, and here's hoping that next year will be just as nice. By the way, Mike ("callsign 'Rudy'"), sorry we didn't get to say 'hi'. I guess when we stopped by you were out flying your 'Mustang' wink.gif .

Congratulations to Middletown Aviation for putting together a great first-time airshow. The flying was great and there was some good stuff to look at on the ground as well (airplanes and cars). Still some kinks to work out, like somebody previously mentioned there were not very many bathrooms. Also, I heard some disgruntled people in the park who were upset about having to pay admission just to use the park that day, even though they had no intention of going to the airshow. I'm not sure what the relationship between the airport and the park is. I would've thought they would charge you a couple bucks to park your car in the park, and then when you reached the admission gate for the airshow, that's where the admission price would be charged. However, I was charged admission just as I turned into the park, so I'm assuming everyone else was too. Not really a problem with the airshow itself, but some of the locals were upset about that, and I hope the airshow doesn't get any bad vibes from its own neighbors since this show has so much potential.

My favorite part of the show was the Avenger/Wildcat formation flight, kind of like a WWII Navy Legacy Flight. Very cool. Also enjoyed the Wildcat demo following the Legacy flight, and the Screamin' Rebels were excellent. Nice to see the C-5 Galaxy from Wright-Patt come over for a couple of fly-bys on Saturday afternoon.

Very good pics! Looks like it was a fun show.

The airboss was great, asking for photo passes after each act and then going on to ask for lower, closer photo passes. My kind of guy!

We did get treated to some interesting formations. Early Saturday the Wildcat flew on the wing of the Mustang and later the Mustang flew off of the Avenger. So much traffic came into the airport that things actually started to get a bit dicey. A Cherokee cut off the Avenger on short final and forced them to go around. There were a lot of interesting homebuilts/experimentals present too.

Did anyone else see the Mustang dive from behind and overhead the crowd Sunday? I thought that was pretty cool.

Thinking ahead, I think the show should plan for a larger crowd bathroom and vendor wise. I heard many food places were sold out on Saturday. I think they should really try for more military support, a single ship demo could make or break the show. Also, a little detail, but it'd be nice to have the warbirds circle behind the crowd for their passes instead of flying two miles in front before turning back in. I hope to see the show back next year!

Thank you to Greg Morehead, Brett Hunter, Will Ward, Jim Greeson, and anyone that may have slipped my mind! You guys are awesome.
