We survived with no injuries or accidents and a great show.
The performers were great - Dave Erickson, Kay Eckhardt, Craig Teft, Rob Hertsberg, Lee Lauderback and Viper West. We also had Pacific Prowler, Utah KC-135, Utah 211th Army Aviation Apache, and a "Armor Demo". This was a tank and several half tracks roaring around firing thier guns in a mock battle all thanks to the Utah Military Vehicle Club.
The weather was awesome - sunny but not too hot - the density altitude was great! The Utah and Idaho Air Guard were wonderful to show off thier tanker and A-10 respectively. Burger King was a great sponsor and did awesome with the food service.
Saturday started off with a big line to get in and it never stopped. The Air Force had an awesome ground display as well as the Navy (but no Navy planes - DANG). The museum was proud to show off our vintage Officers Club that is being restored and we had a number of items on display that have not been available to be out yet. The Idaho ANG sent an A-10 - they could not have been better - the ground support and pilot were bar none the best ever - Go SkullBangers! The Utah 211th Army Aviation brought an Apache helicopter (they are my little brothers unit) and the I saw big groups of people around them the whole time as well.
The Utah ANG also opened up thier KC-135 for the public and I never saw thier line go down either - they are an excellent group of folks to share thier work, knowledge and plane with the public. Hill AFB and the 4th Fighter Squadron sent a F-16D for the crowd to get up close with as well - thanks to the Fuujins for thier effort and time! BTW - you folks may have seen ASB member 'Hercules' videos here - we show displayed his film brief for the public and got a great response - I hope he can get the interest and funding to make it happen!
Intermountain Health Care was able to send thier Life Flight plane and let folks see what they do to help the community and I was able to see my friend KD Simpson who coordinates the PAO for them.
The museum also conducted free airfield tours in a vintage 6x6 truck which included the atomic bomb loading pit, was very popular. The car show I hate to say, I never got down to see but I am told it was a good wone with a lot of Corvettes and a few salt flats racers!
Viper West did an excellent job as usual - I hate to say, "as usual" but they are just at the top of thier game - no holds barred. Big thanks to 'Hefe', 'JV', 'Cheetah' and of course 'Spicolli' who was also able to sneak a VIP ride with Jesse James in on Thursday before the show!! Lee Lauderback - what a gentleman - wonderful heritage flight and my pleasure to meet him.
As an organizer I didn't take a single photo - too busy else where but we had pics taken so as they roll in I'll post a few here.
