I talked too Voodo from the co. ang saturday, and he said that the viper is worn out and that the russians have better aircraft the the US does. although i would agree with him, I dont want to. At least they are building new planes. I do not know how expensive the Russian aircraft are, but i do know how expensive the f-22 is and I do not see any more being built than there already been paid for. I have heard that the RAPTOR goes for around $285 million a piece. Really expensive, and a superior product, maybe, but if they are all that and a bag o' chips then none of them should ever get shot down right?? any ways thought I would get something started, and see what happens. ok?? globemaster3

The F-22 cost is around $144 Million, not $285. The F-16 is a 4th generation fighter, and is at the mercy of today's highly sophisticated IADS, unlike the F-22 that can fly through undetected.

the viper is worn out..but its still a solid aircraft either way..

and dont take advice from one pilot.. i know handfuls of pilots that wouldnt trade it for the world (unless we are talking the F-22 here)

and oh.. its bag of chips.. not o'chips laugh.gif

The price of the F-22 varies, depending on when the aircraft was received. And I'd take my viper back anyday over anything else. It all depends on how much you want to fly. F-16's have always been able to gas and go nearly all day long.

The F-16 is one of my favorite military jets EVER and I mean EVER. I think that it has had better days. But as long as the AF continues to fly it, and maintain it, it will continue to be one of my favorites. I just was telling you all what a current pilot said about the FALCON. So I will continue to like the 16 until they replace it. Globemaster3
