Full Version: Event Organizers Looking for Performers…
ASB.TV Community > Making Connections > Air Shows Looking for Performers, Statics, Warbirds

There are plenty of places to find love online, but what if you’re simply looking to fill a hole in your timeline?

We, at ASB, want to put our global community to work making connections that keep air shows entertaining no matter where you live. While we’re not starting an online dating site (yet), there are times when a performer or an event needs a nudge to start chatting with one another.

I’ve spent the last 11 years in this industry with most of that time running the NAS Oceana air show. From that experience and that with ICAS, it became apparent that much like a finding a great “date”, air shows and performers have a hard time finding one another when schedules change, planes break, or weather re-routes at the last minute.

So post what you need, where you have an opening, and how we can all help one another.

This topic is strictly for event organizers. I’ll personally be moderating this thread to insure it remains for those whom it’s intended. I don’t expect this to be a blistering topic but it’s here when you need it.

Cheers!

I need advise. I live in Savannah GA . We used to have airshows almost every year at Hunter Army Airfield . Since the late 80s however the shows have disappeared. I think most of this is because of the increased building around the base perimeter in the last 20 years. I would like to know how I go about trying to help get a show started again in the area. There are civilian fields in the area that could be used. We do get a show every other year at MCAS Beaufort SC and every year in Vidalia GA but it would be nice to get a warbird fly in of some type in the area. Savannah was the birth place of the " Mighty Eighth " and there were several USAAF training fields in the area during WW2 so the history is here.

Any suggestions one how to get the ball rolling ?

Thanks.

Debbie, I am not an event organizer, but thought you should know that I had made a post a few weeks ago in the Forum section that on the Ocean City, MD. website www.ocairshow.com they have a part under performers where they are asking if any civilian performer is interested in flying their show to fill out the form they have a link on there to them. Here's the link to my earlier post:
