I have built at least a dozen. Let's see some pictures. Here are some that I built. I'll revise the list later and maybe I can find a few pictures.

P-51
Lear Jet
B-17
A-10
Cessna 172

Same here....there has to be more than a few plastic scale model builders here. I'd contribute for sure!Click to view attachment

Great idea...although I don't build anymore (52 year old eyes don't work up close very well anymore).
Here's the first model I "got my hands on", built by my dad in about 1955 I suppose. Thats me, aged one or so...

Here's a "Hurri"...the last model I built. Its the old Airfix 1/24th scale one.

I'd love to see what other folks are doing...so many fantastic new kits out there...

Nice work Al and Hornet_Fan!

I also think it's an excellent idea! wink.gif

Count me in, I'm a scale modeler from the 50's, and still pursue the fine art of plastic modeling when time permits, it is an exact science that requires meticulous detail and knowledge

Very nice Hurricane, there

YOU GUYS/GALS ROCK!!!!

THANKS!

I think reviews would be cool too if anyone wants to contribute. Even if it's a couple sentences about how nice (or nasty) the kit is/was.

great idea!

Here's a 1/48th HH-60J for the USCG on Cape Cod converted using the Italeri SH-60B kit and Cobra Company J conversion set, and Fireball decals

Now If I knew how to put pictures on the site I would show some of my work. Been building models since the late 50s. Any one know how to help me on the one. "Boats"..

well, the first thing you'll want to do is find a site to host your photos. i really like flickr.com. they've got a free version where you can only upload a certain amount per month so you'll want to resize your photos so you can get more on there.

Here are a few pics of my USAF demo team aircraft.

For all of you "hard core" model builders out there, try this web site:

http://www.aircraftresourcecenter.com/

It has something for every skill level.

Like the real aircraft, model aircraft need some up keep as well. This B-26, Flak Bat 1/48th model is over 20 yrs old. Then this A-26 1/48th model is 10 yrs old. And the EA-6B is about 20 yrs old. Sitting in a show case for years, so I pull them as needed to clean them and repair small parts that come off from time sitting. "Boats"..

i have a couple 1/48 Invaders in the collection. I don't much room though so it's been mostly 1/72 single enging builds for me lately. I may have to drag one of them out after seeing this one though. I can always find room for an A-26!

Al I have nine more A-26s in stock and eight B-26s in stock. Think I have about ten of every model I build. Back when the price was right I bought up as many as I could knowing the prices was about to go out of control, and happy I did. That A-26 was 7 bucks, the B-26 was 5.98. Got five B-29s at 10 buck each when they came out. B-17s I think I have 15 in stock and so. All or 1/48th. Now I build the under dog aircraft most of the time. I find a picture of a plane know one knows and go for it, having the only model of his plane thinking. Why build the same one that has been built over and over by other model builders. "Boats"

Dare I ask how many P-61's you have??? Always one of my favorite 1/48 kits.

I prefer the underdogs myself, too. I like the Liasions and Trainers.

Do you ever go to the Museum of Flight show in February?

I have to admit to the same thinking... who wants just another blue Corsair or Hellcat, or just another olive drab/neutral grey AAF bird in their collection... (I've got an Atlantic scheme Dauntless on the go right now - and just wait 'til I post the pics of my Norseman... I think you'll like it) $10 B-29s??? (Monogram???) ... oh man! I've only ever had 1... bought it over 25 years ago and still paid close to $25 for it at the time... (and all I have left of it today are the nose wheels!)

Al was woundering how many P-61s I had, eight in stock. Here is one I built in 1989, there is over 50 hours in this one, though I'd pull my hair out doing this one. I love this plane, but there is many parts in this guy. I'm building up one of the B-29s right now and I'm in hair pulling over this one. I do have a few 1/72s in stock, four B-36s. But I need to build more show cases to fit them boys. I got the room, just have too many irons in the fire. The 35 foot lighthouse needs to get done and out of my way so I can get back in the hobby room. Its taken up the hole shop and my shop in 36 feet long. Can't say I have nothing to do be retired, hell I'm ready to go back to sea for some time off. "Boats"..
