As the season gets going, Ed, Michael Goulian and Rob Reider will all be tweeting updates so make sure you follow: htpp://www.twitter/asbtv

In fact, that's how I found out their practices were rained out! You can also easily access it from the top toolbar under community.

What would be really cool would be for the Navy to fund the Horsemen for a year, with the Horsemen in Bearcats painted up like Blue Angels, and have them fly at 100th Anniversay events.

Petty cool Jim wink.gif Thanx for the update Deb. Mike cool.gif

The Horsemen have a very dear friend by the name of James Horner. James composed the music for such films as AVATAR, TITANIC, BRAVEHEART, APOLLO 13, A BEAUTIFUL MIND, LEGENDS OF THE FALL, ROCKETEER.... the list goes on and on. James just got nominated for another Academy Award for AVATAR.... anyway... we call James the "Fourth Horsemen". He rides with us during our training season and comes to many of our shows. We just adore him. So... I thought it was pretty cool that in the publicity photo of James conducting at FOX for AVATAR he was wearing a HORSEMEN hat. Go James! Best of luck at the OSCARS!

Maybe he can write a custom theme song for the team? smile.gif

As for the 2010 schedule, it's a shame my show didn;t make it. But something tells me the committee never asked them to fly here.

It's times like this I wish I knew who to go bug about getting the Horsemen to fly in the Chippewa Valley tongue.gif

Ed - I have always loved the music used in all the videos - it always fits the scene and "mood" of the shot perfectly - tell James congrats! I'll be rooting for him to win!

Just a ‘small world’ personal note:

We had a chance to meet James Horner wayyyy back.

In the early 80’s my younger brother and I attended a very interesting and educational seminar at UCLA about how film soundtracks are created. I believe it was titled ‘The Magic of Film Music’ and was hosted by Joe Harnell. James Horner was among the noted guest speakers which included Bill Conti and Elmer Bernstein.
We remember Mr. Horner sharing his somewhat enviable dilemma of whether he should score another Start Trek movie or choose a very different project. It seems the choices he has made on the career path so far have turned out fairly well, eh.
We are glad the Horsemen and ASB are able to benefit from his gift of music.

Carry on, greg

Horsemen updates:

Dan Friedkin is heading to Davis Monthan AFB for Heritage Flight training. The team spent time last month preparing for the 2010 season with a new twist for the first show at NAS Key West, April 10-11. To salute Naval Aviation, the Horsemen will be flying two Bearcats and one Corsair. Jimmy will be flying lead in the Corsair.
Reason for edit: Jim unable to attend

I'm unable due to work to go to DM this year for HF training, but here's a shot of the Corsair and the Bearcats.

Great shot Jim. Thank you Sir. We look forward to meeting you @ Oceana. We would have met you last year @ Tyndall (we met Deb, Ed, and Dan), but you were grounded by the weather. Seeya in September.

Nope. There are certain things to do but not everyone gets to fly while at the HF conference anyway and I can catch up by phone with any important meetings that are held there.
