Here are some photos I took on Thursday at the practice session and of some planes for static display arriving.

It is really wierd to see the 12 Snowbirds planes, 8 Thunderbirds planes, and 8 Blue Angels planes plus Fat Albert, all parked on the same section of tarmac. It is not a sight seen very often, if at all. I just wish the British Red Arrows had been parked in the same area to round things out, but I guess adding at least 9 more planes would have been too much for that small area.

Great photos!

Thanks but they aren't my best work. I had just gotten off the plane and walked out of customs as the Thunderbirds were practicing. I had to reach into the luggage, grab the camera and didn't have the proper lens on it. Also my White balance was off, but I will have everything right for Friday.

Nice shots for 'spur of the moment'.

Love your city - been there for the last 4 Summer Music/Street Festivals. Last year added Tadoussac at the suggestion of one of your local motorcycle constables.

Shoould be a great show w/list of scheduled performers

I was upset that the formation of the T-Birds, Blues, Snowbirds and Red Arrows for tonight's show made their pass before the gates were even opened.

The Red Arrows did an evening show for us tonight which I thought was amazing! Fat Albert, CF-18, Skip Stewart, Gene Soucy, Skyhawks, Les Shockley, Dan Buchanan all put on great shows as well. I left before the fireworks, but watched them as I drove back to my hotel.

So how about that mixed formation pass? I guess they wanted it to be kept a secret even from the paying spectators. rolleyes.gif

Other than that it was a very enjoyable show. Even after being at the rearmost gate and having it open a while after the other gate, I was able to run and get a spot on the (surprisingly short) fenceline. We wanted to leave just before the fireworks so we could beat some of the crowd, but every time we got ready to go a new act would pop up! French narration and chatter on the scanner didn't clear much up. We ended up walking back while the fireworks were going off. I hope that the videos from tonight will come out as good as they appeared when I took them.

For anyone going tomorrow, look for the AIRSHOWSTUFF.COM CAMERA CREW t-shirt.

If you think you were upset about that 4 team formation pass, you should have seen the other guys with the press passes. They wouldn't let us out on the field to photograph it. To make up for it though, they did take us in and had all 4 jet teams pose with one plane each. Photos of a lifetime. I was caught with my wide angle lens in the car and only a long telephoto on the camera, so the most teams I got in one shot was two of the four. Several of the other guys did get all four teams in one shot and I am sure they will post if they ever make it back to the hotel.

No offense to Quebec, but they need to learn better large event traffic management. They only had one lane of traffic exiting the airport.

Nah they look professional on the ground, in the air, anywhere! The Reds may have the best over all demo but the birds are damn good ambassadors for the U.S. I tell ya!

And amazing pics threewire keep em coming.
