Howard Pardue owns an F8F(Kimberly Brook), Spirit of Texas, plus many other warbirds which are all based out of Breckenridge,Tx. Late this afternoon a possible tornado hit the airport and caused major damage to hangars on the field(from what I saw on Tv). I dont know what the status of his aircraft as its only been about 20 mins since they started showing video from there. Keep you updated.

Hope everyone is okay.

Here is video of the airport damage and it's not looking very good.

I've been hearing the Red Bull (Formerly White Lightnin') P-38 is currently based there.

Ok his hangar has taken some damage on the ack side you can see it zoomed in on at 2:34, the planes in it look to be ok. More updates to come.

that wasnt a possible tornado. it was a tornado, straight line winds wouldnt of spread it all over the place. Hope no one is hurt, that poor L-5 got demolished and flipped over.

Better that happened to the L-5 than the pilot who flies it. That same system is headed our way for tomorrow and The Weather Channel said it will most likely be the worst severe weather outbreak in a long time so everyone in this area be aware and be careful tomorrow.

Stay safe everyone, especially those possibly flying to Thunder or another show, as there will be other storms in the Lousiville area on Friday.

Here's some further information...

http://warbirdinformationexchange.org/phpB...pic.php?t=21122

Luckily it sounds like the P-38 only sustained minor damage, and Howard and his Bearcat were not at the airport, but there is still obviously considerable damage to many other aircraft, including the rest of Howard's warbirds, with the hangars and local houses taking an even bigger hit.

Hoping for the best.

When I saw the L-5 flipped upside down, my heart sank. I knew that Ezell Aviation was out there, didn't connect Howard Pardue to Breckenridge until later. BTW, Andy, "Spirit of Texas" is at Stu Dawson's hanger at Aero County Airport in north McKinney (or least he was last summer when I was up there). I'm relieved that no one was hurt and hope that the damage to the planes wasn't too bad.

I dont know where "Spirit of Texas" is right now but I heard it was out at Breckenridge but I think that was just for Reno, also I thought it was Horwards not Stu's but I know your right there. Also Mckinney did have some pretty bad stuff this morning but not as bad as Breckenridge.

No, Dawson's hangar and planes are up at North Texas Regional(Grayson County Airport). Don't know if he's out now or not, but that's the last I heard about them. We also have some other warbirds up there, but everything is safe up there. No damage from what I heard.

this is a quote from another website,,,,,I phoned Howard last night. He and Carolyn and the Bearcat are not in BKD. Some near misses as Steve's house was destroyed with his family ok in the rubble. Nothing like a tornado to put the "mobile" in mobile home! They have even pulled up pavement off a highway. Eddie Holmes house also, no major injuries or deaths, but must have been a scary time for all. Some damage to lots of buildings, planes, the Staggerwing, Wildcat some wing damage. The roof may hve fallen on the Cub. Fury is ok, some tail damage to the P-38, he thought.
