Kevin Eldridge bails out of the Super Corsair at the first annual Phoenix Air races. Notice he turns the plane away from the airshow crowd ... all ? and points the plane at the ground before bailing out. You can bet his butt was getting really hot judging from the intense flames. The Super Corsair exploded upon impact, a sad loss. Kevin had minor injuries, but he is fine today. Announcer is Sandy Sanders.

Keith Breazeal made some good videos. I have a couple from the Moffet Airshow he produced along with a Matt Chapman video he did. Jim Deveney

I saw an old video from the 1995 Phoenix Air Race, they had a good airshow line up and some really neat air races like Heliocopter Races, T-28 Races i dont think those are still around today and of course the unlimiteds and sport plane classes.

Yup, the pucker factor was really high when I was shooting the video. It's always a good thing when the chute opens as advertised! 20 years of Naval Aviation and I never had to bail- came really close a few times!!! All the videos are on my site: http://www.kbvp.com
