I was poking through my normal haunts for aviation, flightsim, and other info, and came across a blurb surrounding the 2008 Quebec airshow.

Slated to celebrate the 400th Anniversary of Quebec, they are hoping to have the Canadian, British, French teams, along with one of the American teams.

It's a 3-day event in June (13, 14, 15), 2008.

Anyone else heard much on this?

Late Edit:
The video linked on the website above indicates the Thunderbirds will also be in attendance (at the 4:30 mark). Obviously not a documented confirmation, but positive nonetheless!

While it is still in its planning, I can confirm that they will have the Red Arrows, the Patrouille de France, the Snowbirds and hopefully one of the US Teams.

I have a question would the Red Arrows and the Patrouille De France team make stops in the US while they are in Quebec?

When this is all official and such I might have to make a trip to Canada next year!

Nate, the Reds did Shearwater for a couple of years, and they never set foot in the U.S.. I remember one year Oceana tried to sweet talk them down to their show, but they weren't interested.

I believe that year the Reds were in Shearwater, they also performed at the Canadian International Airshow in Toronto. I had the pleasure of seeing their performance and they are top notch!

I think it would be awesome for these guys to do a North American tour next year. The airshow is celebrating the 400th aniversary of Quebec City. So part of me is wondering if they will just make the stop in Quebec City and that's it. I hope this is not the case and they do a NA tour, as the Thunderbirds graciously did a 2-3 week tour over in Europe this past season

This is about a 8-9 hour drive, but as Steve said, when this becomes official, I'll definately have to consider this show.

I know Dayton had all 3 North American Teams in 2003, but this is just incredible. Hopefully all the teams show up and make this an amazing airshow weekend!

Can't wait to see what else they have up their sleves!

K....

Us Canucks travel all over the USA to go see shows, especially Virginia..some place called Oceana as I recall....

Why don't some of you trek up here?? smile.gif

Bandit

Late Edit - sorry if that sounded bad...I'm just not in the best frame of mind right now! Please, come up to Canada and enjoy the show! It is sure to be one of the best around North America, if not the world, and it would be well worth the trip from anywhere!

Bandit just saved himself from becoming a victim of his own name...lol! Seriously, I will try my hardest to make it to Canada for this show - the promise of four jet teams is airshow candy... smile.gif

Ya, tell me about it...lol There is also a tonne of nightlife in Quebec as well, and I'd be more than happy to take any ASB'ers out for a great night on the French town...of course, as Steve pointed out, four jet teams is, in the words of my southern friends, GRAVY!

And we all love gravy... smile.gif

Total Est. Distance: 599.32 miles and a travel time of 10 hours - a very nice day trip! smile.gif

$1091 for a flight + 4 nights hotel...all things considered, not that bad! smile.gif After all...travelling to Oceana to go see some Tomcats I'm certain that people have spent that much, if not more! I see your point though...it is pricey.

$400 worth of gas round trip...hmmm...I could see how this could be an issue...but you do have 8 months to say the pennies...after all, how many chances in your life will you have to see FOUR National Demonstration Teams??

Well the 600 miles one-way doesn't sound too bad... I can handle that - easy day trip with many stops along the way but don't know how long that border crossing might take. If there's only one airshow I will go out of my way to attend next year, this will be it.
