Just got back from Indy's Friday practice show. I arrived about 2 and nothing really happened until the Blue Angels at 3, which started with Fat Albert's demo, based directly out of Mt. Comfort. The Blues flew in from Indy Int'l and they looked sharp. They performed the high show, even though there were a few clouds under the top sides of their loops, but those cleared out about halfway through the show. Winds were also steady at 45 throughout the show. The Diamond looked really tight despite the high winds. The #4 jet did not fly, replaced by the 7 jet. I thought there was a rider along, but couldn't tell for sure. JB had to depart before the Delta Pass in Review at the end of the show because he was low on gas.

After the Blues, the Sky Soldiers did their demo, but it kept getting interrupted by the arrival of static display a/c, including a T-45 and two Ospreys (one was a demo a/c). Overall it was a good practice show, was really pleased with the Blues, and good to see the Ospreys arrive. Looks like there might be rain for Saturday's show. I don't think I'll make it back up there this weekend but I'm glad I got to see the practice. Hope everyone has a good weekend!
Best,
Mike.

Mike -

Sorry you got there so late. We started flying at about 11:30. Tim Weber, Mike Wiskus, and the Tuckers flew. Eric Tucker's doing a great job. Yesterday I did a photo flight with Brian Norris with a photographer from the Indianapolis Star with Sean and Eric doing some GREAT formation work. What a team thos guys are. pretty darned amazing.

There'll be a lot of good stuff tomorrow IF tonight's rain doesn't ruin the parking lot or anything on the ramp. Weather might not be great until noon or so but if the organizers are good, they'll swap things around to make things work.

BTW, I'm told that the Boeing Tech Rep was in the back of #4 (7).

The best weather for the show will probably be on Sunday.

See you all there?

Rob

I wanted to get to the show but I am about 6 hours away. If anybody gets any good shots of the V-22 Ospreys, could you share them as that is why I wanted to go.
Thanks

I'm really liking this webcast, the simulated scream during Greg Shelton's act made me jump since i had the volume up.

Im glad to see the Virtual Army Experiance is back up after the little problem they had in the Quad Cities that costed $100,000+ in damages.

Windows Media Player cannot play the file. If the file is located on the Internet, connect to the Internet. If the file is located a removable storage card, insert the storage card.

What ever is causing the audio to sound like someone is making farting sounds into the mic, i wish i would stop. If its the mic acting up for the blues i think they should switch to the Green Mic.

yeah, the static during the Blues' performance was unbearable! It wasn't there prior to their show. Hey, they even stayed with one of the solos and got the sneak pass all the way through. Nice!

Not bad for a streaming air show! The warbids were a great sight - like that German JU craft. Other than the Blues, no real modern day military. I noticed the Blues flew in, but didn't take off right at the airport - I guess the runway isn't long enough? Similar to Quad City - saw an airshow there one year and the Blues came in from another airport. One of the best parts of the Blues' performance is seeing them take-off right in front of you in formation and then seeing the solos doing their thing.
